About Us

Kathleen Morton, M.A. MFT, LPC, ATR, EMDR- Certified

Kathleen Morton is a Licensed Professional Counselor, EMDR Certified clinician, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Registered Art Therapist who is skilled at creating a safe, nurturing environment to identify and develop areas for personal growth and healing. Kathleen is the owner of Mindful Growth and Trauma Recovery, PLLC and enjoys being of service to individuals, couples and families. She received her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA and completed her thesis on building resilience in the wake of physical and emotional abuse. She is highly experienced in individual, group, and family counseling and has been a practicing mental health therapist since 2010. She is also a former foster parent with first-hand experience in parenting children with trauma histories and adoption issues and has trained in TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention), Play Therapy and DBT Therapy. As an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certified clinician, Kathleen specializes in addressing PTSD. EMDR is highly effective in both adults and children for the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, addiction, self-harm and a myriad of other compulsive behaviors and phobias. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of substance abuse and recovery, utilizing both 12 Step and alternative recovery methods.  As a group therapist, she has experience working in residential treatment, in-patient hospitals, and out-patient settings with children and adults of all ages. Kathleen is an active member of both the Texas Counseling Association (TCA) and the South Texas Art Therapy Association (STATA).

Kirsten Lee, M.S.S.W., LCSW

Kirsten Lee offers a holistic approach that combines evidence-based practices with opportunities for creative and integrative approaches for children, adults and families. Kirsten has specialized experience in working with youth, adults, and families who have experienced various forms of trauma, within school, home, and community settings. Kirsten earned her M.S. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and her B.A. in Social Work from St. Edward's University.  Kirsten utilizes an attachment-focused model of therapy for adults and children, and is additionally trained in CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, play therapy, parent coaching, and trauma-informed counseling.

Michelle Doyle, M.A., LPC, EMDR

Michelle Doyle is an experienced, empathic Licensed Professional Counselor who utilizes a therapeutic approach to counseling that promotes resilience, self-awareness, and values-based living.  She received her Master’s Degree from Saint Edward’s University in Austin and loves working with adults, families, adolescents, and children. Michelle has specialized experience in Anxiety, Trauma, Depression, PTSD, Stress-Management, and Personal Growth & Wellness. She is well-versed in DBT therapy, Trauma-Informed Mindfulness, Meditative practices, Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Strength-based therapies. She especially enjoys working with individuals experiencing anxiety and/or depression who are interested in a holistic and mindful approach to living and wellness.

Anna Kelton, M.S.S.W., LCSW, EMDR

Anna Kelton is a culturally sensitive, warm, knowledgeable, Licensed Clinical Social Worker who guides her clients to discover their personal goals, while providing the expertise and support to achieve them. Anna received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin; her experience includes working with clients who have experienced sexual trauma, physical trauma, PTSD, anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. Anna is fully trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and specializes in utilizing this and other trauma-informed methods to assist her clients in healing from unresolved stressful experiences.  She is also trained in DBT, play therapy and sandtray therapy and enjoys working with children, teens, couples, and families.

Michelle Ellingham is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who utilizes a person-centered approach that promotes empowerment, self awareness, and building on personal strengths. She received her Masters from the University of Texas at Austin and loves working with adults, families and children. Michelle has specialized experience in anxiety, trauma, PTSD, women's issues, relationship counseling, child and adolescent therapy, and multi-ethnic cultural sensitivity. She especially enjoys working with teens and kids, and provides play therapy and sandtray therapy as well as parenting support and guidance. Michelle values caring holistically for her clients and helping them to embrace their worth as individuals.

Dr. Justin Phillips, LAc

Dr. Justin Phillips has partnered with Mindful Growth & Trauma Recovery, PLLC, to provide our clients with cutting-edge, evidence based, holistic, integrative, treatments for depression, anxiety, & PTSD.  Dr. Phillips has been in practice for over ten years, and has worked closely with the Herman Memorial Cancer center, Austin Integrative Medicine and Endocrinology, Dell Medical Center, and the Seton Healthcare System. In addition to his private practice he has worked as the Associate Dean and Director of Clinical Studies for the Healing Tao Institute of Austin, been faculty for the AOMA College of Integrative Medicine where he was recognized as the featured faculty for 2017, and a featured speaker as part of the Google Health Month. Justin is the author of The Living Needle, the current textbook on needle technique in the field.
